About

What is Petrosains RBTX Challenge?
Petrosains RBTX Challenge 2018 is an event where all robotics enthusiast will gather to learn, discover, and battle their robotic creations. This pilot event by Petrosains will be a platform for all walks of life to explore and share their interest and knowledge in robotics. The offerings for this year will include Robotic Workshops, Zone Qualifying and a Grand Finale.

Closing date for registration is on 15 May 2018.

Challenge Categories

Three categories available this year:

  • Robo Sumo: Open for all.
  • Robo Tracer: Open for Primary School Students (7-12 years old)
  • Maze Runner: Open for Secondary School Students (13-17 years old)

 

General Rules
  • Max 2 people/team with 1 teacher/official guardian (for participant below 18 years old).
  • 1 person cannot sign up for more than 1 team for the same category.
  • Competition is open to all Malaysian Residents.
  • All terms and conditions may be amended or withdrawn at the discretion of the management of Petrosains Sdn Bhd and Petrosains Robotic Challenge 2018 at anytime without prior notice.
  • The name registered for every team is non transferable. No changes is allowed once signed-up is complete.
  • Organizing committee is not eligible as participant.
  • All participant must present their identity card or Passport(for non Malaysian) during the Zone Qualification before they can proceed to the battle field.

  • Registration via website (Non refundable commitment fee RM100/team)
  • Interested participants can register for FREE workshops (limited seats available)

Maze Runner

The Challenge of the competition is for an autonomous (self-directed) robot 'mouse' or called The Hungry Mouse race against the clock to collect as much as possible within a 8 cell by 8 cell maze. The fruit photos are placed randomly on the floor of the maze.

Robo Sumo

A match involves two contestants (one operator per robot can be registered, but may be assisted by their mechanic/team) who starts the robot that they have made themselves in the Ring according to the Game Rules.

Robo Tracer

The challenge of the competition is to make a robot that can move on a given line (white on black or black on white) and reach the finish as soon as possible.
